Lecturer in Optimisation or Operations Research

The Faculty of Informatics at the University of Wollongong offers programs that encompass mathematics, statistics, information systems and technology and computer science as well as software, electrical, computer and telecommunications engineering.
The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics at UOW is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time member of staff to join its team of applied mathematicians. Applied Mathematics is an integral component of the UOW Research Strength in Mathematics and its Applications, which has 25 staff including an Australian Research Fellow, a Future Fellow and 8 postdocs . T he successful applicant will undertake academic duties consistent with an ongoing Lecturer (Level B) appointment.
To succeed, you will be a talented and well-qualified mathematician with expertise in optimisation or operations research. You will be able to demonstrate: an ability to complete research projects and publish results; a commitment to excellence in research and to seeking external research funding; a commitment to excellence in teaching; an ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level; excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills; and a proven ability to work well in a team environment.
