Professor of Paediatrics
Graduate School of Medicine/Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District
Continuing Position
The University of Wollongong's Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) and NSW Health's Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) have forged a strong relationship committed to improving the health outcomes of our community and regional Australians by bringing together research, teaching and clinical practice. We have a strong commitment to developing the next generation of medical professionals that are well equipped to negotiate the challenges of medical practice, particularly in regional, rural and remote locations.
As Professor of Paediatrics you will be the Academic Leader for Paediatrics within the GSM and ISLHD. You will work across both the hospital and university environments to lead the development of an Academic Paediatrics Unit, ensure that the paediatrics components of the GSM's degree offerings are of high quality and lead paediatrics research initiatives. This is your opportunity to make a difference in our community, lead new research and teaching initiatives and contribute to the education of the next generation of medical professionals. This position has been made possible by the generous support of the community, local business and clubs to undertake key paediatric health research. This position has been classified as “child related employment”.
Accordingly, candidates will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check as part of the process.
You must address the selection criteria as part of your application, which is located within the position description on this website. For further information please contact Professor Wilf Yeo on + 61 2 4252 8839.
