We have a strong commitment to developing the next generation of medical professionals that are well equipped to negotiate the challenges of medical practice, particularly in regional, rural and remote locations.

As Professor/Associate Professor of Surgery you will be the Academic Leader for Surgery across the GSM and ISLHD. You will bring your high quality surgical skills to the hospital environment in your area of surgical specialty and will provide academic and clinical leadership across research, teaching and clinical practice components of the GSM's activities. You will assemble and lead a team of academics and clinicians that are interested in developing a focused surgical research agenda that contributes to the advancement of surgery as an academic discipline, secure external research funding and engage with the community in meaningful ways to make a difference.

This position has been classified as “child related employment”. Accordingly, candidates will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check as part of the process.
